Why we built Top3
Local businesses kept getting the same advice: "optimize your Google Business Profile." They optimized. Nothing moved in the Map Pack. And then ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity showed up — and stopped naming them entirely. We found out why, on both surfaces.
The problem story
Every local SEO consultant told the same story: fill out your Google Business Profile, get reviews, add photos, keep your NAP consistent. Good advice. Necessary advice. But for businesses in competitive markets, it was not sufficient.
The Map Pack has three slots. For any given keyword in any given city, three businesses get those slots and the rest are invisible. The difference between position 1 and position 4 is not better photos. It is signal density.
Google measures proximity (are people near you searching for your keyword?), engagement (do people click, call, and get directions to your business?), and entity clarity (does Google understand what your business does?). For a new or under-ranked business, these signals are weak simply because they have not accumulated enough customer interactions yet.
We built a device farm to fix that. 10,000 real phones, organized by US city, generating the exact signals Google measures. Not bots. Not VPNs. Real phones on real carrier networks with real physical locations.
Then a second surface emerged. When customers started asking ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity "who's the best plumber/dentist/roofer in my city," the AI returned a short list of names — and the same businesses that were invisible in the Map Pack were also unnamed by AI. We realized the same farm that produced authentic local engagement signals also produced the authentic session signals AI engines learn from. One device farm. Two surfaces. One ranking outcome.
The device farm
Each phone is a real consumer device — the same models your customers carry. They run on real US carrier networks (not VPNs). They have real location histories, app patterns, and behavioral fingerprints. Google’s spam detection cannot distinguish them from actual customers because they are not fake.
Our measurement standard
We do not use API calls or screenshot tools to measure Map Pack position or AI recommendations. We measure from real devices in real locations because that is what your customers see. A device in downtown Denver sees a different Map Pack than a device on the edge of the metro area. ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity return different answers depending on the consumer-product session state. We map both surfaces by measuring from multiple real devices daily.
This is how we can offer the guarantee. We know, with real-device evidence, whether you are in the Map Pack or named by the AI. There is no ambiguity. When the threshold is met — 3+ daily measurements confirming Map Pack position 1, 2, or 3, or a confirmed recommendation on ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity — we send you the evidence.
The guarantee commitment
The guarantee is not marketing language. It is the structure of the contract. We cannot charge you for a result we have not delivered. The software literally does not initiate billing until the ranking threshold is detected.
We can offer this because the device farm works. We have done this across hundreds of local businesses in competitive markets. The guarantee aligns our incentive with yours: we only get paid when you rank.
Top 3 in Google Maps. Top 3 in AI. Or you don't pay.
No card. No timer. We work until you rank on both surfaces.
