What it means, mechanically

Four steps. No step is hidden.

Step 1 — free proof, no card

You enter one keyword, your business name, and your city. No credit card field, no account, no password. A real device in your market captures your actual current Google Maps Local Pack position for that keyword and sends you a dated screenshot. That capture is free regardless of what it shows.

Step 2 — start Growth tracking, card required but not charged

The proof view has a "Start tracking" button. Clicking it redirects straight to Stripe Checkout — no separate login, no new account, your email carries over from the free step. If you choose Growth ($399/mo, 5 keywords), Stripe saves a card on file, but nothing is charged at checkout — no subscription is created yet. If you choose Starter ($199/mo, 1 keyword) or Pro ($799/mo, up to 10 keywords / multi-location) instead, your card is charged immediately at checkout — those plans do not run this mechanic.

Step 3 — the first verified win triggers the charge

Ranking work starts immediately, and recurring device-farm captures begin. The moment one of those captures shows your tracked keyword at position 1, 2, or 3, that screenshot is what creates your subscription and your card is charged for the first time — never before. You get the win screenshot and the receipt in the same email.

Step 4 — no win yet, no charge

Until a qualifying top-3 capture happens, your card stays saved and uncharged — there is no deadline that forces a charge either way. If a win never lands, you are simply never charged. There is no scenario where you are billed without a verified win.

This is outcome-gated billing — on the Growth plan. Starting Growth tracking requires a card, but that card is not charged at checkout — it’s simply saved, with no subscription created yet. The first device-farm screenshot that shows your tracked keyword at position 1, 2, or 3 is what creates your subscription and starts the monthly charge from that point forward. There is no cap: if a qualifying screenshot never lands, the card is never charged — tracking just continues, with no deadline forcing a resolution either way. Starter is billed immediately at checkout and does not run this mechanic — if a lower-risk start matters to you, that’s the reason to choose Growth.

This is not a true no-card free trial — a card is required to start paid tracking, even though it isn’t charged then. It is also not a money-back guarantee: once your first charge fires (because you won), that charge is a normal paid subscription going forward, and standard cancel-anytime terms apply from there. And “free until you rank” is a billing mechanic, not a promise you’ll rank by any particular date — some keywords win sooner, and Google Maps ranking is never guaranteed on a fixed timeline.

Tracking simply continues until either a qualifying top-3 screenshot lands or you decide to stop. We do not auto-convert you to a paid plan on any schedule — the only way billing starts is a verified win.

Everything on this page — the card-required-but-not-charged step, the win-triggered charge — is specific to Growth. It is one of the reasons Growth is the plan most people pick: it is the lower-risk one.
Is this too good to be true — what’s the catch?
The closest thing to a catch is that Growth still needs a card on file to start tracking. But that card is not charged at checkout, and it stays uncharged unless and until a device-farm screenshot proves you actually rank in the top 3 — however long that takes. If it never happens, the card is never charged. We’re comfortable with that because the free proof step already lets you verify your starting rank before you ever hand over a card — the outcome-gated billing on top of that is the real risk-reversal, not a marketing line.
When do you charge my card?

There is no deadline that forces a resolution — your card simply stays saved and uncharged for as long as it takes, and tracking continues until either a qualifying win happens or you decide to cancel. How do I cancel once billing has started?
Once your first charge fires — because you ranked — you can cancel any time through the Stripe-hosted billing portal linked from your confirmation email, or by emailing hello@top3.cloud from the email you checked out with. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you already paid for; you are not charged again.
Do you refund me after I’ve been charged?
Once you’ve won and been charged, that charge is a standard paid subscription — we don’t offer money-back refunds for a billing period you already used. The risk-reversal in this offer is that you are never charged at all until that verified win happens, not a refund after the fact.
