Why real devices matter for Map Pack
Google’s Map Pack ranking algorithm does not care about links. It cares about the behavior of real people searching near your location. When a real customer searches "dentist near me" on their phone in your city, clicks your Google Business Profile, and taps "call" — that behavior signal tells Google your business is highly relevant for that query in that location.
The problem: most local businesses get this engagement naturally only after they are already in the Map Pack. It is a chicken-and-egg problem. Our device farm solves it by seeding the engagement signals that make Google confident about promoting your business — before organic customers are generating those signals on their own.
The same logic applies to AI engines. ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity rank local businesses based on real-account session activity at scale. Synthetic API polls can measure who AI is naming — only real devices on real accounts can move it. We use the same phones your customers carry, on the same accounts your customers use.
Synthetic traffic (bots, VPNs, headless browsers) cannot replicate either signal. Google and the AI engines have spent years building carrier-signal, battery-state, behavioral fingerprint, and account-history detection to filter synthetic engagement. Real devices on real accounts pass those filters because they are real.
Six signal types. Two surfaces. All real.
The same device farm generates the signals that move you in Google Maps and the signals that get you named by AI. One campaign, two surfaces.
Proximity signals
Real phones physically located in your target city generate searches. Google sees the carrier-network location, not a VPN or data-center IP. Proximity weighs heavily in Map Pack placement.
Engagement signals
After finding your business in the Map Pack, the devices click your profile, tap the call button, and request directions. Google interprets high engagement as strong relevance for that keyword.
Entity signals
The devices confirm your business category, read your description, and interact with your Q&A and review sections. Entity clarity reduces ambiguity in how Google classifies your business.
Prompt signals
The same real devices ask ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity the natural-language versions of your keywords — from real signed-in accounts. AI engines weigh real-account session activity at scale; that's what we generate.
Entity signals
AI engines synthesize from Google Business Profile, schema markup, review platforms, and your website. We audit and normalize your business entity across those surfaces so models resolve "best [service] in [city]" cleanly to you.
Answer-relevance signals
Real consumers ask AI in long-form natural language — not 3-word keyword searches. We translate your 5 keywords into the buyer questions AI actually receives and reinforce your business as the answer to each.
